{First stop on first vacation of 2010...}

Here are a few pictures from the first day of our MOUNTAIN vacation.  Our first stop was in Historic Lexington VA.  It was hot as Hades, but we enjoyed the day and our carriage ride through downtown before having a great dinner at a restaurant called the Palms.
This is my sweetest DNK meeting one of the horses.  This was the female,  named Jenny.  She was so sweet, and she TOTALLY knew she was beautiful!!
Shana was our tour guide, and the owner of 25 working horses.  She was extremely sweet, informative and friendly!  Here, she had just watered the horses, and was giving them a little treat of Apple Cinnamon Cheerios before we left on our carriage ride! =)
Jenny and her half brother Jake all ready to take us on our tour.  The carriage rides were actually cancelled for the rest of the day due to the heat.  It was almost 100° in Lexington!!  I didn't know ANY mountains were capable of getting that HOT!!!!!
Loaded and ready to go!   That is my in laws in the back,  DH and I in the middle and DNK got to ride up front with Shana, the tour guide.
Our "view" of the horses from the carriage.  Shana was quite funny, telling us stories about the horses and how "human" they can be.  For instance, Jenny can't POO while walking.  She'll stop to go, even if standing in the middle of a red light.  However, if Jake has to go, she makes him keep walking.  Good thing they wear "diapers". I'm sure not every guest gets to hear that little bit of information, but it was pertinent on our ride.  We had to pause, in the middle of the road, and Jenny refused to move.  It was quite funny actually!!! DNK thought it was hilarious!

DNK just looking as cute as ever.  She enjoyed the ride, as we all did.  Even the heat was tolerable because we were in the shade of the carriage.  I do admit though, I was happy that the horses were done for the day, although they seemed  to be fine!!

Wow, well there ya go.  I actually blogged TWICE in one day, AND posted a few pictures.  Now, don't get all overly excited, cause I ain't promising anything, but I sure am gonna try to make my blog a bit more of a priority now.  I'm even considering quitting my online gaming all together.  Then I'll have LOTS of free time!
Well, time to get DNK and her cousin (who is spending the night in our room here at the family reunion), to bed.  The camp serves breakfast in the dining hall at 8am, so no sleeping in for us this week.  I know that normally that would be pure torture, but for some reason, this week at this camp, with these family members, it's ALL GOOD.  I can sleep next week when I get home.  Night y'all! =)
