{The girl in the purple belt...}

Howdy!!  I'd love to say that things are starting to settle down here, but, I'd be lying.  I'm still waiting for the LAZY days of summer to get here, but at this rate, I think Winter is gonna beat it!  Next week I'll be being a bit more lazy than usual, since I'll be sitting my buns on the sand at the beach for a whole week.  The most work I plan on doing is when I have to get up to refill my coffee cup....
Today I just wanted to blog a bit and brag about my sweet baby girl.  I haven't done that nearly enough recently. (yeah, right).  Today she spent the better part of 3 hours testing for her purple belt in Karate.  She passed, as I knew she would, because she's just AWESOME LIKE THAT.  I tell ya, when this kid sets her mind to something, she DOES it.  I don't think there is anything that she can't do.  Except maybe chew gum and walk at the same time.... but EVERYTHING else she tries, she masters.  She'll be a black belt in no time.  I just know it.  Then I'll make her go with me everywhere for protection.  She's gonna have it all folks.  The looks, the smarticles, and she's gonna be able to seriously kick some butt.  It'll be like having my very own extremely cute, smart and mean body guard.  Yay me!!!! =)
Anyway, now to share a few pictures from today's testing.  Sorry if these bore you, but hey, a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do, and this mom's gotta BRAG.  Enjoy, y'all, and have a great weekend! =)
I love her fierce look of determination.  She always looks mad when she competes, but she's not.  She concentrating.  She's awesome!!
Renshi and Sensei say she has a beautiful "cat stance".  I agree.  Doesn't she look great? ;-
She works very hard to get her Katas and stances sharp looking.  Too bad her Gi was a mess in this shot though!!
I love watching her compete, and test.  I love her look of determination.  Of concentration.  The way she puts herself out there to always "Do Her Best".  I'm one proud momma!
Sensei Louis changing her belt from Orange to Purple!!
There she is!  A purple belt.  WATCH OUT BLACK BELT -- HERE SHE COMES! She may not have looked it here, but she was ONE happy little girl to have that purple belt, not to mention having the test BEHIND her!
